Delete Account

Learn how to completely delete your City-Flock account and your data.

Overview

You have the right to delete your City-Flock account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains step by step how to proceed and what happens during the process.

The deletion is carried out in accordance with GDPR (Art. 17 – Right to Erasure) and is generally irreversible.

How to delete your account in the app

1. Open the City-Flock app and log in

2. Tap the profile icon at the bottom right to access your profile

3. Tap the gear icon to open settings

4. Scroll down (if not immediately visible)

5. Tap 'Delete Account'

6. Confirm the deletion

After confirmation, your account will be immediately deactivated and all your data will be completely deleted within 30 days.

What will be deleted?

When deleting your account, the following data will be irreversibly removed:

β€’ Your profile (name, profile picture, bio)

β€’ Your contact details (email, phone number)

β€’ Your location data and saved routes

β€’ Your chat histories and messages

β€’ Your flock memberships and connections

β€’ Your safety contacts and emergency settings

β€’ Your optional verifications and trust level data

What will be retained?

For legal or security reasons, certain data may be retained for a limited period:

β€’ Anonymized reports (without reference to your account) remain to ensure community safety

β€’ Transaction or payment data (if any) for tax retention periods (max. 10 years under German law)

β€’ Log files for security and abuse prevention (max. 30 days)

All retained data will be automatically deleted after the legal retention periods expire.

Timeline

β€’ Immediate deactivation: Your account will be deactivated immediately after confirmation and will no longer be visible to other users

β€’ Complete deletion: Within 30 days, all your personal data will be removed from our systems

β€’ Backups: Data in encrypted backups will be overwritten within 90 days

Important Notes

β€’ The deletion is irreversible. You cannot restore your account or data

β€’ Ongoing flocks will be automatically terminated. Other participants will be notified that you have left the app

β€’ Newsletter subscriptions will be automatically terminated. You do not need to unsubscribe separately

β€’ If you have problems or need support, please contact us before deletion

If you no longer have the app installed or experience technical problems, you can also request deletion via email:

Subject: 'Account Deletion'

Content: Provide your registered email address and confirm that you wish to delete your account.

We will confirm receipt within 2 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
